Gila Regional Fly-in at Reserve, September 1-3, 2023

Register to join us for NMPA's premier backcountry fly-in and special RAF 20 Year Celebration!

Our annual fly-in to Reserve Airport (T16) in the Gila National Forest is coming up, with fly-outs to Gila area airstrips and an Airport Open House from 9am - 1pm on Saturday. Pilots are expected to read the available safety briefings (links below) for any backcountry airstrips they visit. Note: Reserve is a really nice, paved airfield.

A bargain at $50 per person, kids 12 and under free. Includes Friday dinner cookout and catered dinner provided Saturday, plus breakfast provided both Saturday and Sunday mornings. A new NMPA "Fly the Gila" t-shirt included for each registrant (Sacaton and Glenwood added this year!!!). Ground transport to Reserve via shared vehicle.

Tent camping is allowed on the field. Water and electric on site, and county provides porta-potties. Ground transportation provided into the town of Reserve and to motels at Hidden Springs or in Reserve. See website for room block info.

NMPA Mountain Flying Clinic

Sept 22-24, 2023

Santa Fe, NM (KSAF)

NMPA's annual 3-day clinic with 1/2 day of ground school Friday and Saturday afternoon and optional mountain flying with an experienced mountain CFI Saturday and Sunday morning. 2-3 hours of pre-work will be required.

Albuquerque Double Eagle II Airport (KAEG)

Join Ron Keller, NMPA's Backcountry Committee Co-Chair, New Mexico RAF Liaison, and airstrip volunteer extraordinaire for a first-hand review of backcountry flying opportunities in New Mexico.

He'll review safety considerations and available resources for safely accessing backcountry airstrips in New Mexico and beyond. Anyone welcome. Registration not required.
