Over New Mexico and the Southwest - Part2

Hi everyone.  Jeff Gilkey here.  I apologize for the multiple notices on this program, but I have to rely on word of mouth to inform everyone of this show and you guys are my prime audience.

I am doing another show at the planetarium dome, this time during Balloon Fiesta Week.  It's 1PM on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History Planetarium in Albuquerque Old Town (the dinosaur museum).   My first dome video show last May sold out for both showings.  This time, there are no tickets and admission is by donation after museum entrance.  All proceeds go to Space Science and Planetarium programs at the Museum.

The first show was created from video captured during 2018 from my wingtip mounted GoPro Fusion 360 camera.  While COVID delayed my first show for 3 years, I was able to get a head start on "Part 2", covering my 2019 flights.  By projecting the 180 degree field of view video on the 55 foot planetarium dome, I am able to create an incredibly immersive experience.  It's about as close to trike flying as you can get short of getting the in back seat of my trike.

If you were able to see my first show, you'll definitely like "Part2".  If you missed my first show, then this is your chance to see what you missed.  The two shows are similar, except I fly over totally different places in the two videos.  Everyone, pilots, non-pilots, kids, teens, adults, should have a great time if they attend.  Arrive at least 15 minutes early so you can get a good seat (up high and in the center).

Highlights from Part 2 include:
  • Secret canyons and springs of the NM desert
  • Valles Caldera and surrounding canyons
  • Valleys and peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of NM and CO
  • Mills Canyon on the Canadian River
  • Shiprock Peak
  • Rio Salado and Alamocito Creek
  • Canyonland country of Southern Utah, including the San Juan Goosenecks, Monument Valley, Green River Canyon, and Goblin Valley
  • Playas Lake and Cave Creek Canyon of the NM Bootheel region
