REGISTER for the Race / Fun Run

FLY IN! DRIVE IN! Join us for the first annual Run the Runway & Mutt Strut 5K fun run, a fundraising event supporting the CABQ Animal Welfare and the EAA Chapter 179 at Double Eagle II Airport! Whether you want to run or walk, you’re going to love the stunning views of the West Mesa.

Feel free to bring your furry friend along, or “borrow” a pup from CABQ Animal Welfare—there will be lots of adorable dogs ready for adoption, all vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped, with no adoption fees! And that’s not all! We’ll have a tag machine on-site giving out free pet tags with no limit. Don’t miss this exciting day featuring a music, a food truck garden and cool drinks to keep you refreshed after your 5K adventure.

Route starts at the old SAMS Academy building on the south end of the field with access to Runway 17/35. The 5K extends the full length of runway 35, returning on the taxiway, back to the start area. Music, Food, Fun!

We can’t wait to see you there, joining us to support these fantastic organizations!

NOTE: Runway 17/35 will be CLOSED. Runway 4/22 will remain open. Ground transportation will be needed to get to race start from Atrisco Vista Blvd / and the road to the gun range. See pilot info on EAA 179 page.
