This month we will visit Agathla, a tower of rock near Kayenta, AZ. I missed the deadline for this month's "Obscure and Scenic" column, so this month's zoomchat will be a sneak preview of my next column.

Agathla is a volcanic throat formation, very similar to ShipRock Peak which is located 75 to the east in NM. This amazing peak is often overlooked by visitors to nearby Monument Valley, UT. We also take a look at the neighboring formations of Owl Rock and Chaistla Butte.

Please join us on December 8th at 7pm for our next NMPA – Fly New Mexico – Zoom Chat. Note that the chat will be open 30 minutes early for informal discussions (hangar talk) and to help new participants get set up. An email will be sent to our members a few days before the chat with instructions and a link to the meeting. Since only our membership will have the link, our Zoom meeting will be more secure and shielded from spam.
