This morning I flew to Negrito, and found out there is a new fire nearby just East of Collins Park. I didn't notice any smoke on the way in, but saw lots on the way out.
The fire is burning on both sides of Bursum Road in Y Canyon near the Continental Divide.
After speaking with the District Ranger, it sounds like they are going to monitor and should get some rainfall this week. The hotshots from Negrito Fire Base are on scene. Negrito runway 17/35 was wet this morning, so I used runway 17 to land since it is largely gravel and stays drier. The northern 2000 feet were OK. Barely got a couple of mud spots under my wings.
